Even after years, Bollywood is still closely linked with notorious acts of the underworld. On Tuesday, actress Mamta Kulkarni and her husband Vicky Goswami were declared as the “proclaimed offenders” in 2000 crores worth drug haul case by the Thane session court.
In April 2016, this case came to notice when two drug peddlers were arrested with Ephedrine drug worth Rupees 12 lakhs. The investigation revealed this drug to be sourced from Solapur based Avon Life Science Pvt. Ltd. that is allegedly owned by Vicky. Thus, even Mamta got booked under the charges of supporting her husband’s drug dealing business.
In March 2017, Thane Police busted 2000 crore worth drug trafficking racket, when over 18.5 ton of Ephedrine was seized in their Solapur based pharmaceutical factory. As per the sources, this illegal drug was exported to Kenya for the further production of party drug called Methamphetamine.
As per the court’s order, Mamta and Vicky can be arrested anywhere from India by any agency. Their passports will be confiscated. And after a month, Police can seize their immovable property in India.
Mamta Kulkarni ’s love story is not less than any Bollywood thriller. She was the leading actress of 90s, while her then-boyfriend Vicky was an Ahmedabad hailing smuggler. Both met in Mumbai, fell in love. Later, he became an international drug dealer and got arrested by Dubai police. Mamta used to regularly visit him and is also said to have married him while he was still serving his imprisonment.
