Marathi movie 'Court' chosen as India's entry for Oscars

Marathi film 'Court' has been chosen as India's entry for Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category.

Marathi film ' Court ' earned great response from the audience, as the film was gripping with powerful storyline. The filmmakers have one more reason to rejoice now. The film ' Court ' has been picked up as India's entry for the Oscars. The flick has been chosen in the Best Foreign Film category.

Since September 17, a 15-member committee watched 40 movies in Hyderabad. The other films in the list were ' PK ', ' Bajrangi Bhaijaan ' and ' Baahubali - The Beginning '. The news update was confirmed by a senior functionary of the Film Federation of India. Amol Palekar is the chairman of the jury panel.

Produced by Vivek Gomber and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane , the flick ' Court ' depicts the picture of Indian legal system through the vision of a folk artist. The film has won international awards too. ' Court ' released on April 17.
