Recently Meera met Kamal Amrohi' son Tajdar and requested him to allow her to do the remake of Pakeezah . She wants to make the film with her own resources. Tajdar has currently no plans for the remake of his father's classic flick gave her a nod. Joyful Meera then while speaking with the source said that she loves Meena Kumari very much. She has watched her films for many times and her favorite is Pakeezah . She has come to India with a dream to essay Meena Kumari 's role in Pakeezah one day. And now with Tajdar's approval, she is really overwhelmed with joy as her dream is going to be a reality soon.

When asked Tajdar about this, he said that Meera is like an innocent child with big dreams in her eyes. Pakeezah is not at all easy film to remake. Taking into consideration of the cost of the costumes and sets, it will cost almost twenty times more than in the original film. Plus she would have to take care of the dialogues and the very aura of the films. Taking care of all such facts, it is not at all a child's play to remake Pakeezah , he said. He also said that Meera will have to talk with him about the director and the music composer of the film before starting the film.
