Music Director A.R. Rahman Felicitated At The 3rd GiMA

The 3rd Chevrolet Star GiMA (Global Indian Music Awards) was held yesterday (i.e. on 1st October) at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Many eminent personalities from the film and music industry were present at the ceremony.
It was hosted by Parineeti Chopra & Saif Ali Khan . Many singers such as Shankar Mahadevan , Sonu Nigam , Mika Singh , Sukhwinder Singh etc. also performed on the stage. Shankar Mahadevan 's two sons Shivam and Siddarth also showed their presence on the stage with their performances whereas actress Sonakshi Sinha performed with the singer Mika.
To celebrate 20 years completion of A. R. Rahman in the film industry, a special act was performed as a dedication. Singers such as Udit Narayan , Alka Yagnik , Sonu Nigam , Hariharan , Naresh Iyer , Mohit Chauhan , Chitra etc. crooned to his hits songs such as Mitwa, Saathiya, Dil Hai Chota Sa, Tu Hi Re, Chanda Re Chande Re, Mehndi Hai Rachne Wali, Ru Ba Ru, Sadda Haq, Jai Ho etc.
Commenting to his felicitation A. R. Rahman said, "I was hinted out about the tribute but I did not realize that this will create such a big nostalgia. I have learnt a lot from all these singers who have touched my heart today. I still remember the day of my first concert in 1996 when most of the singers who sang today, came to watch me. I really thank GiMA for this. I am truly touched."
