Not the makers, but Sanjay Dutt demanded to unveil the trailer of his biopic on May 8th, here’s why!

The film on Sanjay Dutt ’s life has been one of the hottest news for the last couple of years. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani , the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Dutt and no doubts it is one the biggest projects of 2018. Though the release date of the film is declared, no one has any clue when the trailer will come out. Well, worry not, we know the date! Surprisingly, Sanju Baba himself has asked the makers to unveil the trailer of his biopic on May 8th. The date is not a random date; Baba chose it because of a particular reason. The significance of this date is that Sanjay's debut film ‘Rocky’ was released on the same date in the year 1981. The film was directed by Sanjay’s late father, Sunil Dutt , and it was released after few days of her mother’s death.

Talking about it, a source stated to a daily, “Sanjay started his career with ‘Rocky’, which released on May 8, 1981. Naturally, the date is very important and memorable for him."

Talking about the title of the film, even though the makers have made no official confirmation, the film is most likely titled, Sanju. There were reports about the film being titled Dutt initially, and there were others like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Sanju Baba. But, Hirani has finally decided to go with Sanju and his friends in the industry also address him with the same name.

‘Sanju’, which also stars Paresh Rawal , Dia Mirza , Sonam Kapoor , Anushka Sharma , Manisha Koirala , Karishma Tanna , and Vicky Kaushal , is slated for release on June 29th 2018.
