Sudhir Mishra is one of those directors of Bollywood who has always stood for right and justice. From day 1, he supported Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Padmavat (i) and till date, he stands with Bhansali. As ‘ Padmavat ’ now officially has 25th January as its release date, Mishra has pushed the release date of his film, ‘ Daas Dev ’. ‘ Daas Dev ’ was initially scheduled to release on 16th February, but now when Bhansali’s magnum opus is coming on 25th January, Mishra postponed his film to 2nd March so that both the film will get the fair share at the box office. “The entire team is thrilled with the news of the official release of ‘ Padmavat ’. We have all rooted in this decision and as a fraternity, we are happy the film is coming to theatres soon. So in lieu of that and to ensure our film too receives its share, we considered and finalised the push to March 2. Now we are all gearing up for the new date and will put it all energies towards it”.
‘ Daas Dev ’ is a modern take on the Bengali classic novel ‘Devdas’ by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is a political thriller directed by Mishra, and it stars Rahul Bhat as Devdas, Richa Chadda as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni aka Chandramukhi. The film also features Saurabh Shukla , Dalip Tahil , Anil George , Deepraj Rana , Saurabh Tyagi and Anurag Kashyap .
Interestingly, ‘ Padmavat ’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali also made a film on the same novel and now Mishra is giving a new take on the old story.
