Pankaj Tripathi signed Kaala to just meet and talk to Rajinikanth!

Pankaj Tripathi is one of the few talented actors of Bollywood who is lately getting his dues paid. After giving some back to back incredible performances, the actor has now started getting roles that match his calibre. After working in 5 different films in 2017, the 41-year-old actor has some equally brilliant films in 2018 as well. One of the biggest films he has bagged this year is megastar Rajinikanth starrer Kaala. The film is a gangster drama and will have Tripathi in a pivotal role. This is Tripathi’s first major film in the Southern cinema and he says he signed it just to meet and talk with Rajinikanth.

“The first shot was very nice. I was just quietly watching him. For 10-15 minutes I was just looking at him. I had signed this film to just meet and talk to him. I wanted to talk to him about cinema, his approach towards it, life and spirituality. I’m glad I did that,” Pankaj told PTI.

The gangster film, which is written by Pa Ranjith, also stars Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar .

Apart from this, Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 . Earlier, it was speculated that Tripathi was the first choice of the makers to play the role of mathematician Anand Kumar. But the actor put all these rumours aside and said he does has an important role but was never approached for the lead.

“There was never any truth in this. People just said that I was a suitable candidate. I am playing an important role in the film. It was a lovely experience working with Hrithik. We had worked together in Agneepath also, we knew each other already. It was very nice,” Pankaj added.
