RajKumar Santoshi 's fresh comic ride ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' released on September 20 with much hype and enthusiasm surrounding it. However, Shahid Kapoor , Ileana D'cruz starrer could not create much wonders at the box office over its non-enticing content. The makers promoted the film in full swing and the song videos promised it to be a great entertainer.
' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' received not a very good reviews from the critics, also it could not please the audience to much extent. Most of the viewers preferred to watch the ' The Lunchbox ' starring Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur that released on the same day. Although, ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' was an out and out 'masala' entertainer along with the vibrant coloured songs, emotional drama and over-the-top fighting sequences, the film had to witness a downfall over other releases.
After ' Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! ', the rom-com ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' proved a major disappointment. According to the reports, the movie garnered 6 crore nett on Friday, while on Saturday, the collection of the film was 7 crore nett, which is not a big leap at all. On Sunday, it raised to 8.25 crore nett. The first week of its release started with 3.15 crore nett on Monday and it was 2.75 crore nett on Tuesday. The film harnessed 2.45 crore nett on Wednesday. Hence, the total domestic collections of the film can be summed up to 29.60 crore nett. On the other hand, 7.41 crore nett is the total overseas collection of the film. All these figures make up to the total worldwide collections 36.21 crore nett.
' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' is observing a descending response from the viewers, making it a total washout at the ticket window. The major reason behind this can be the content that went haywire losing its base, resulting in a failure. Only a few music tracks came to the rescue for the viewers and seem to attain top position in the chartbusters list.
After ' Mausam ' and ' Teri Meri Kahaani ', this is the next flop for the chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor . Now, all eyes on his next, ' R... Rajkumar '!
