Priyanka Chopra is making us all really proud with each passing day. After winning awards and accolades for her international show Quantico and starring in the Hollywood biggie Baywatch, the actress will now introduce her maiden Sikkimese production, Pahuna, to the world on an international stage. Yes, her Sikkimese production is all set to be screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF starts from September 17.
Produced under the banner of PC's production house Purple Pebble Pictures, Pahuna has been written and directed by Paakhi Tyrewala. It is a story of three Nepalese children separated from their parents and their harrowing journey back home.
Expressing her happiness over the selection of her film for Toronto International Film Festival premiere, Chopra took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “Purple Pebble Pictures' Pahuna has been chosen to be screened at #TIFF2017 and I couldn't be prouder. To see a dream you had to take shape and become a reality is a wonderful, wonderful feeling. I started PPP with the vision of bringing great stories to life, and of becoming a platform to launch new talent. Our Sikkimese film #Pahuna has achieved both, as its director @Paakhi's first film and she's beautifully conveyed the story of 3 ordinary children facing extraordinary circumstances.(sic)"
Pahuna is the fifth film made under the banner of Purple Pebble Pictures. The production house is known to produce regional films.
