It's raining movies for actor Shahid Kapoor . Last appeared in super successful, Padmaavat , Shahid is now shooting Batti Gul Meter Chalu and has few more movies in his backpack. But the one which is making the most noise is the Hindi remake of Telugu super hit film, Arjun Reddy. After touring the doorstep of a number of A-list actors, the movie finally landed in Shasha's pocket and its makers believe he is the perfect choice for the film. But even before going on the floors, the movie is turning out to be an expensive venture. The film's script alone is costing around 7 crores to the Hindi makers, which is a huge figure for a script of any southern film.
The original film was made on a small budget of 6 crores but after its release, it became a blockbuster hit and received a cult status, so its original makers are demanding a hefty figure to sell the remake rights.
A source informed a leading tabloid, "Several filmmakers were trying to bag the film's remake rights. Since it was a blockbuster, the project's adaptation is highly anticipated. Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani shelled out a cool Rs 7 crore to the producer for the Hindi version."
Well, it remains to be seen on what amount the makers settle for.
Like the original film, the Hindi remake will also be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
