Rajkumar Santoshi’s film on ‘Battle Of Saragarhi’ to go on floors next week!
Seasoned actor Danny Denzongpa has joined the cast as the main antagonist.

To be directed by renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi , the period drama film based on the Battle of Saragarhi of 1897, will mount floors in Punjab next week. After wrapping up the first schedule of the film in Punjab, the team will move to Kazakhstan next year. "Yes, we leave for Punjab next week where we will shoot for 40 days,” said Santoshi. The historical film stars Randeep Hooda in the role of Havildar Ishar Singh. Veteran actor Danny Denzongpa has been roped in to play the main antagonist in the movie.
Talking further about the shooting schedule the director said, “The Kazakhstan shoot will be in the first week of March and we are putting up a set there. We were looking for a location like Afghanistan where the battle took place and found that in Kazakhstan. The weather conditions are harsh till February which is why we have pushed the shoot to March. It's a crucial sequence and will be shot over 45 days."
When asked about a similar project which Karan Johar has announced with Akshay Kumar , Santoshi said, "Akshay is a dear friend and Karan is a colleague, I wish them the best.
