Actor Rana Daggubati who played the key antagonist Bhalla Deva in the popular Baahubali series films is all set come up with yet another trilingual. Yes, Rana’s upcoming film Haathi Mere Saathi is a trilingual that will be shot in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The movie is in its early stages of development and it starts rolling in January 2018. According to the reports, the film is a tribute to the 1971 original featuring Rajesh Khanna.
In 1971, the Rajesh Khanna, Tanuja starrer Haathi Mere Saathi was a hit and was loved by the audience dearly. The film displayed the innocent friendship between a human and an animal. Now, the modern-day take on the film will be interesting to watch for sure! And, with a talented actor like Rana Daggubati , one can expect brilliance from the film. The forthcoming movie is directed by South filmmaker, Prabhu Solomon. The upcoming venture has been produced by Eros International’s Trinity Pictures, and is scheduled to release during Diwali 2018 release.
Talking about the film, Rana said, “There’s a very exciting physical language to the character I’m playing in Haathi Mere Saathi and is completely different from what I’ve done in the past. I’ve always wanted to be a part of content that can travel across the country. It’s a rare story about the relevance of nature in our lives, narrated through a wonderful relationship between man and elephant. Prabhu Solomon’s passion for nature and elephants makes him the finest craftsman in the country who can handle a story like this.”
