Rishi Kapoor, Anna Hazare honoured with Deenanath Mangeshkar award
The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar presented 72th Master Deenanath Mangeshkar award to Rishi Kapoor, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Anna Hazare and the other great personas.

The 72th Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award was presented by the legendary singer and Bharat Ratna recipient Lata Mangeshkar to the eminent personas like the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor , the social activist Anna Hazare, the musician Ustad Zakir Hussain and the other iconic personas. Deenanath Mangeshkar Award is in its silver jubilee year.
The award comprises of a momento, citation and cash prize of Rs.100,000 each. The great songstress recalled how two-year old Rishi Kapoor used to play in her arms and later went on to become a superstar. Mangeshkar said that "We commemorate my father's death anniversary as 'Smriti Din' April 24 every year. These awards are given to eminent people in the field of cinema, music, theatre, literature and social work," Talking about felicitating Ustad Zakir Hussain with the award, Lata Mangeshkar recalled that "Once I recorded six songs in a day for him for movie...Today, I am so happy that Ustad Zakir Hussain has grown as a prominent artiste making us proud all over the world,"
