Saif Ali Khan and R Madhavan starrer ‘Battle Of Buxar’ to go floors from February!

Actors Saif Ali Khan and R Madhavan are collaborating for a historical war movie, tentatively titled, ‘Battle Of Buxar’. As the title of the movie is somewhat self-explanatory, it is based on the war of Buxar (a small town in Bengal), which happened in the 18th century and the movie will be helmed by ‘ NH10 ’ director, Navdeep Singh . Saif and Madhavan, who had featured alongside Dia Mirza in Gautham Menon’s romantic-drama ‘ Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein ’ in 2001, are reuniting after 17 years. The film is historical and takes off in Rajasthan, followed by shooting schedules in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh and is scheduled to kick start in early February.

A source from the film reveals, “The shoot kicks off in Rajasthan, where the story is set, in the first week of February. Since it’s a period film, Saif and Madhavan will be training in sword-fighting and horse-riding. They will require a lot of prosthetics and the team has been working on their look for a long time. Last week, there was a final look test in Mumbai and the film is ready to roll now.”

Along with Saif and Maddy, it is reported that Zoya Hussain of ‘ Mukkabaaz ’ fame is more likely to play the female lead. Though the makers have made no revelations, rumour has it that Zoya is finalized.

Last year, news broke that Saif has been replaced by Sidharth Malhotra , but clearing the air, a source told a daily, “Saif is still very much a part of the film. He has definitely not walked out or been replaced. He will soon start prepping and shoot for it next year.”
