Saif Ali Khan to be signed for Batala House
Batla House would be action thriller based on real events, directed by Nikhil Advani.

Despite the fact, Saif Ali Khan ’s Rangoon did not perform well at the box office, but he kept himself busy with films like Kaalakaandi, Chef, and Baazaar. And yet, the actor has managed to bag one more role and this time it would be intense. Soon, Saif Ali Khan would be playing a lead character in Nikhil Advani ’s next action thriller, Batla House, which would be based on real events. This would be Nikhil Advani ’s third film in association with Saif Ali Khan after Kal Ho Na Ho and Baazaar.
About the premises, the film is based on Batla House encounter happened in 2008, when the encounter took place against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi, where suspected terrorists were killed. In this film, Saif Ali Khan would be playing the character of a daring encounter specialist and Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma.
Saif Ali Khan did Phantom in 2015, which was based on Anti-Terrorism plot was well received by the critics. It is also not the first time for director Nikhil Advani since he also directed gritty action films like D-Day in 2013. Though it turned out to be a flop at the box office, it was appreciated by critics! So it would be interesting enough to see Nikhil Advani ’s perception and interpretation of such real events. The makers are yet to disclose the release date.
