Sairat fame, Nagraj Manjule will debut in Bollywood with a film starring Amitabh Bachchan

Much like actors, some directors also have their dream list to work with a special breed of actors and legends, they dreamt to work with and Amitabh Bachchan is one common name in that list. The director Nagraj Manjule made quite a rage last year with Marathi blockbuster Sairat, sweeping all praises, accolades, and money on the Box Office counters. It was pretty obvious that Nagraj Manjule would pave his way to Bollywood sooner or later. And as per the updates, Big B Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Nagraj’ film, playing an intricate character in the film and given that it’ll be Nagraj’ film, we Bollywood buffs can sure bait some expectation on it!

Nagraj is known to have a gritty and hard-hitting style of storytelling being told in his previous films like Fandry and Sairat, which were coming of age love stories but comment on social assumptions and stigmas people have about classism. Though Fandry had a darker tone to the story! And as per the early updates, Amitabh Bachchan will be playing a role of a patriarch with the twisted shade of characters. It would be interesting to see how this collaboration would turn out to be as both actor-director praises each other’ work. While Nagraj admits Amitabh is the reason why he turned to the film making, it would be interesting to see how he paint Big B in his stories!

Nagraj Manjule was on the script from past 1 ½ years and now that it is taking shape, it is expected production house will reveal its release date! As for not, Amitabh Bachchan is busy with his shooting schedules of Thugs of Hindostan  and other films lined up like 102 Not Out , Rythu with Krishna Vamsi. And as it was in the process, Karan Johar will be making a remake of Sairat in his Dharma productions and it is already being remade in the Kannada language!
