Saiyami Kher opens up about why she’s not taken up any other project after Mirzya!
The actress says that no matter which family you belong to, ultimately the audience decides an actor's fate.

Saiyami Kher made her acting debut opposite debutant Harshvardhan Kapoor in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ’s Mirzya . The film failed to do well at the box office and the audience hasn't seen the actress ever since. In an interaction with a leading daily, the actress talks about her life post Mirzya and why she hasn't signed her second film as yet. “I’m happy for Harsh, and for the kind of films he will be next seen in. He is a dear friend and we recently met at an awards show. He has been lucky that good scripts are coming his way. He is doing Bhavesh Joshi, which will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane , and both Harsh and I are a fan of his work. Unfortunately, the kind of stuff that came my way wasn’t good enough. I can’t do a film I don’t feel excited about. In fact, I was supposed to do a Tamil film with Mani Ratnam, but the project did not take off,” said Kher.
When the actress was asked if she thinks Harshvardhan has been getting more offers because of belonging to a Bollywood family, she replied, “No doubt it helps being Anil Kapoor ’s son but it has been proved time and again that whoever’s son or daughter you are, the audience decides your fate. One can only survive with his or her talent and craft. There has been so much written about Ishaan being the next star kid, etc. But only when you see the mind blowing work this boy has done in Beyond The Clouds , you understand what is more important and what is not”.
