Hockey player and an ex-captain of the Indian national team, Sandeep Singh, on whose life the upcoming film Soorma is based, says that he gives his hundred percent when he is on the field. The champion says that winning for the country has always been his primary aim in life. Singh aka Flicker Singh recently shared a throwback moment from his life when India had won Azlan Shah Cup after 13 long years on 12th April 2009. It's indeed a very special memory for Sandeep Singh as he was the captain of the team as well as the highest goal scorer when India had won Azlan Shah Cup.
Sandeep Singh took to his Instagram page and posted images from the tournament and captioned his post by writing, "Giving my best & Winning for my Country has always been my no.1 Aim. #throwback moment when We won Azlan Shah cup after 13 long years On 12th April 2009 ????????it will always be a special memory for me Cz I was the Captain, Player of the tournament as well as the Highest goal scorer???? always thanking God and you guys for supporting me????#sandeepsingh#soorma."
Recently, Sandeep Singh added another feather to his cap as he took to commentator’s box for the first time at the Commonwealth Games held in Australia. Sandeep has brought glory to the nation by representing the country at 2012's Olympics London where he was the highest goal scorer in the qualifiers.
His inspiring story has had the makers keen to bring his life on the silver screen. Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu will be seen playing lead roles in Soorma .
