'Satyagraha' - Don't underestimate the power of a common man!

After feasting on ' Chennai Express ', ' Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! ' and ' Madras Cafe ', all the eye balls are set on this week's grand release ' Satyagraha ' by Prakash Jha . This Friday will see this political thriller based on a boiling social issue of corruption, quivering the screens. The movie aims at showcasing common man as the protagonist, who is surrounded by various issues in today's life, such as corruption and injustice.

The promos of the film give a hint about the plot and make it look like a narrative studded with excellent performances by the star cast including Amitabh Bachchan , Ajay Devgn , Kareena Kapoor , Arjun Rampal , Manoj Bajpai and Amrita Rao . This flick is the solo Bollywood release this week and this factor seems to provide an edge to this thriller at the box office. ' Satyagraha ' intends to depict the uprising of the common man against corrupt political system and this uprising takes the form of an impulsive movement with a national resonance. This movement mirrors the situation in today's society and unleashes the wrath of Indian population in the opposition of shocking consequences of corruption.

Amitabh Bachchan is essaying the character of "satyagrahi" Dwarka Anand, a man of principles, who goes on indefinite hunger strike in the Gandhian way. Some of the scenes might resemble the movement of Anna Hazare in demand of justice. A source admitted that the prime inspiration for this film is taken from our great leader Mahatma Gandhi. ' Satyagraha ' is the product made out of the budget of around 50 crores and a major portion of the film is shot in Bhopal.

The director Prakash Jha planned to use digital platform for promoting the film. The famous musical duo Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant arrived with a track, "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram", which has gained immense publicity within a short time span. The song is sung by Shweta Pandit , Shivam Pathak and Rajiv Sundaresan . Ajay Devgn will be seen as an renowned telecommunication monarch, while Kareena Kapoor will enact the role of television reporter. The character of a politician Balram Singh is played by Manoj Bajpai . Balram Singh is an apparent threat to democracy and leaves no stone unturned to break the system. Amrita Rao is shown as Sumitra, who is the daughter-in-law of Dwarka Anand. Arjun Rampal will portray the character of a socially committed person, aspiring to become a politician.

As per the buzz, this movie also highlights the issue of 2G spectrum scam, witnessed some years back. The story also emphasizes various politicians, government officials and corporate biggies.

With immensely powerful content, ' Satyagraha ' is all set to rock on the silver screen on August 30.
