Shabana Azmi to star in Anil Kapoor's '24'

From this week, the veteran actress Shabana Azmi is likely to start shooting for Anil Kapoor 's premium television series, '24'. Albeit, the actress is having her hand in sling due to a fractured wrist, she is keen on beginning shooting for television serial of her dear friend and colleague Anil Kapoor .

Shabana Azmi shares a great bond with Anil Kapoor as well as Boney Kapoor , as Shabana and Boney were in the same college. And she has always remained as a role-model and a mentor for Anil Kapoor . When Anil started his acting career, he featured as Shabana's student in the film ' Ek Baar Kaho '. Anil always wished to send a special invitation to Shabana to be a part of one of his productions. And Anil got that opportunity in the series '24', as he offered a very powerful role to Shabana.

The versatile actress Shabana attested the news mentioning that she would be essaying Anil's replacement in the anti-terrorist unit. The actress takes the charge, after Anil goes missing, she said. Playing a gender-free role excites Shabana a lot, as she admitted. Anil Kapoor also confirmed the news saying that Shabana will be seen in a very pivotal role in the television series '24'. Anil will be playing the character of Jai Singh Rathore and Shabana replaces his character, when he goes missing, revealed by Anil Kapoor .

Prior to this, ten years ago, Shabana Azmi starred in a fictional television show titled 'Anupama'. Post this, she did not appear on the small screen. This show will be Shabana's grand comeback on the television.
