Shahid Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali coming together after a decade!

Though the film ‘ Jab We Met ’ is now a decade old, the memories are still fresh in the minds of all the movie lovers. The romantic drama featured Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in the leads and was directed by Imtiaz Ali . We can say that ‘ Jab We Met ’ cemented Shahid’s career as an actor in Bollywood and the movie turned out to be a game changer for the actor. The movie was career-defining not only for the actors but for Imtiaz as well. The news which we are going to reveal will surely excite all the Shahid fans. Reportedly, the actor is joining hands again with director Imtiaz Ali for his next film. The filmmaker is set for a reunion with his leading man, Shahid Kapoor , for yet another love story.

A source associated with the project reveals, “The film kicks off in Mumbai in April and will be followed by an extensive shoot, both in India and abroad. At the moment, Imtiaz is still looking for a leading lady to be cast opposite Shahid for this rom-com.”

In one of his earlier interviews with a leading newspaper, Shahid had admitted that ‘ Jab We Met ’ was his most underrated performance. “I feel for Aditya Kaushik, both in the movie and after its release, because he didn’t get the recognition he deserved. Instinctively, I knew that 10 years later people would get this guy but at that time, to make Jab We Met work, one character had to anchor the story so the other one could jump around,” he had said, pointing out that in nine out of 10 films, one is playing to the gallery but seldom get to play a character which is silent, complex and layered. “I had a great time doing the film. Imtiaz Ali was still new, who was to know that he would turn out to be the brilliant filmmaker he is today.”

Imtiaz’s last directorial was ‘ Jab Harry Met Sejal ’ and he’s now working on his upcoming untitled project. Meanwhile, Shahid is busy with his soon to be release Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s magnum opus ‘ Padmavati ’.
