A lot has been said and written about the upcoming Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster film Arjun Reddy. Earlier, it was being reported that the remake stars Arjun Kapoor in the lead role. However, over the weekend, it turned out that Shahid Kapoor has been finalized to topline the cast. But, when Kapoor was asked about the same, this is what he said: "I'm very excited that it might come to me, that it might happen. You will hear an official announcement if anything happens," he said to the reporters on Sunday. His response means he is yet to sign the project on the dotted line.
Starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles, Arjun Reddy was one of the highest grossing Telugu films of 2017 and has gained a cult status within no time. Reportedly, many filmmakers from Bollywood had approached the makers to buy the remake rights of the movie. Finally, the rights were bought by producers Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani for a massive amount of Rs. 7 crores.
An official announcement regarding the cast and director is awaited.
