Shah Rukh Khan recently made headlines by announcing the release date of Jab Harry Met Sejal a week prior to its original date, thereby avoiding the clash with Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. This move has got filmmakers think twice about the box-office battle. Following SRK’s directions, makers have Haseena Parkar will now be releasing their film on August 18.
In its early stage, Haseena was about to release on July 14, along with Jagga Jasoos and Chef. However, Chef being pushed to October and seeing Ranbir and Katrina leaving no stones unturned to make Jagga Jasoos a hit. Makers decided to release Shraddha Kapoor ’s starrer on July 28, besides Mubarkan. But then further changing their mind, director Apoorva Lakhia and producer Nahid Khan met on Sunday and finally locked August 18 as its official release date.
Though Bareily Ki Barfi and Luv Ranjan’s next are releasing on August 18, yet Haseena Parkar will face less competition from them as compared to Jagga Jasoos and Mubarkan.
Shraddha’s role is inspired by Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar, who used to reportedly manage his underworld business in Mumbai. The film now releases on August 18.
