Siddharth Roy Kapur ropes in R S Prasanna for his next!

Siddharth Roy Kapur is one of the renowned producers in the industry. After working with UTV and Disney for a long time, Siddharth has established his own production house Roy Kapur Films and has successfully backed projects like Dangal, Haider, Barfi! and Kai Po Che. His upcoming projects include the biopic on Rakesh Sharma: The first Indian in space ­along with Aamir Khan in the lead, and Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari’s next film, as per the reports.

Now, Siddharth Roy Kapur has roped in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan director R S Prasanna for his next project as he wanted to work with the talented director. This news was revealed by the director himself who is super excited about the collaboration. R S Prasanna took to twitter and wrote:

“And, this is what's been cooking: Announcing my next with THE Sid Roy Kapur. Post #ShubhMangalSaavdhan can't wait to say "Action" soon!”

R S Prasanna ’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan proved to be a hit and received critical acclaim from the audience as well as the critics. It was touted as the first Indian film with a sexual theme that was meant for a family audience. The film spoke about erectile dysfunction in males and performance anxiety. Impressed by the film and it was directed, Siddharth wanted to team up with the director.

In a media interaction, Siddharth Roy Kapur also confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Prasanna and I will be collaborating on his next film. Like the rest of the country, I loved Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. RS is a talented filmmaker with a fresh voice and has an ability to make unique content and reach out to a mainstream audience. I am sure that together we will make a memorable film.”

Prasanna added, “We hope to give the audiences a truly special film through our collaboration. Partnering with Sid excites me as a filmmaker, who wants to tell unusual stories that celebrate life in all its ordinariness.”

Director R S Prasanna made the proper entry in Bollywood as his first directorial venture was appreciated by both critics and audience. Not many people know, but Prasanna first directed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan in Tamil and later remade in Hindi. And soon director will be making a sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan , which will be produced by Aanand L Rai. And about his deal with Siddharth Roy Kapur , they have worked out many plot ideas for the films and might be putting some ideas in action. Recently, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur also signed a deal with Reliance Jio to produce digital content for Jio’s proprietary streaming platform, so we can guess a rom-com web series be directed by RS Prasanna .
