Siddharth Roy Kapur signs Vinil Mathew to helm his next!
Inspired by real-life incidents, the film will be written by Sudip Sharma, who has previously written films like NH-10 and Udta Punjab.

News has it that producer Siddharth Roy Kapur has got filmmaker Vinil Mathew onboard to direct one of his upcoming films. Mathew is known for his Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer directorial, Hasee Toh Phasee , which was a critical and commercial success at the box office. To be produced under Kapur's banner Roy Kapur Films, the film will be a thriller based on true events. Writer Sudip Sharma , who boasts of films like NH10 and Udta Punjab on his resume, is currently writing the script for the same.
Confirming the same, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur said, "It is a thrilling, dramatic and emotional journey. We couldn't have asked for a better director than Vinil to tell this story. His work in advertising is amongst the most accomplished I've seen." He also added that getting Sudip in the team as a writer is a huge advantage.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be narrated through the eyes of Indian merchant navy officer, Audumbar Bhoi, who was on the ship which was attacked by Somalian pirates.
The film will go on floors in the second half of 2018.
