Sonu Sood will be Sadashiv alongside Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi!

Regardless of the supporting roles to the lead in the films he did, Sonu Sood is always favorite for the casting directors and it is can be traced with the role he played so far. And now as per latest updates, Sonu Sood is cast in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi , alongside Kangana Ranaut , playing Sadashivrao Bhau in the historical drama, to be directed by Krish . Though it is not the first time Sonu Sood played such historic character in Jodha Akbar and Sonu is also chose to play another historic character in upcoming film Padmavati !

Speaking about the role in the film, Sonu Sood said, “It’s challenging to play a real life character because you know that it existed in the history and you have certain parameters to follow and stay within. I’m sure when you’re working with a brilliant director like Krish, a huge ensemble, and a brilliant technical team; there is no way to go wrong. So we are all on our toes to give our best!” And soon Sonu Sood will start practicing for the role.

In other updates, Atul Kulkarni has also been cast as Ramchandra Pandurang Tope, AKA Tatya Tope in Manikarnika, and he’ll be performing sword-fighting stunts himself. Atul has the most powerful role and he has also been learning horse-riding alongside Kangana and since they are both shown to be fighting from the same side in the war, the two of them spent a lot of time getting into the combined collaborative mode.

The film Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi will be produced by Zee Studios and directed by Krish and the other casting includes Suresh Oberoi, Arjan Bajwa, Ankita Lokhande and Richard Keep! And the music for this historic drama will be composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy! The film is scheduled to release in April next year!
