The eminent filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has recreated Sheesh Mahal for his forthcoming flick ' Prem Ratan Dhan Payo '. Barjatya has made it in ode to ' Mughal-E-Azam ' that gave him an inspiration to become a filmmaker. At that time, the director K. Asif created the Sheesh Mahal replica in Lahore Fort that measured 150 feet in length and 80 feet in breadth and its height was 35 feet. A glass imported from Belgium was used to create this replica that took around two years to build.
And now, around after 55 years, the art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai , will build replica of Sheesh Mahal for ' Prem Ratan Dhan Payo ' at Karjat studio. Talking about this, Sooraj revealed that "I have been inspired, awed and overwhelmed by ' Mughal-E-Azam ', a film that has always fuelled my imagination as a writer-director. We tried to pay homage to this cult classic, which has shaped the Indian film industry in many ways by constructing the Sheesh Mahal. It is intrinsic to the plot. How Salman's story and the Sheesh Mahal are connected will be revealed when the film opens on November 12."
