The South Indian film industry's talented actor Dhanush debuted in Bollywood with the film ' Raanjhanaa ' helmed by Aanand L Rai in 2013. Once again, Dhanush will be collaborating with the filmmaker Aanand L Rai , but this time as a co-producer, for the remake of film 'Nil Battey Sannata' in Tamil. 'Nil Battey Sannata' recently won the award at the Silk Road International Film Festival in China. The film is a women-centric flick that features Swara Bhaskar and Ratna Pathak in the lead roles.
Talking about this, the filmmaker Rai revealed "It's a beautiful story of a mother and a daughter so there was no scope for Dhanush to act in it," He further added that " Dhanush had come down in September and wanted to know what I was working on. I showed him the film and he loved it. He is an instinctive filmmaker. Both of us are excited to collaborate on the project,"
This Tamil remake will be helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who also directed the original film. Being a Tamilian herself, Tiwari won't be doing any major changes in the plot. Rai said "The only change is that the original was set in Agra so a pan-India audience could relate to it. This one is based in Chennai,"
The Tamil remake will see Amala Paul and Revathy essaying the lead roles and the movie is expected to hit the floors in January.
