'The Amazing Spider-Man' Sets Record in India
‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ which is a Hollywood film, released in India on 29th June, 2012 along with other Hindi films such as ‘Maximum’ & ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai’.

'The Amazing Spider-Man' which is a Hollywood film, released in India on 29th June, 2012 along with other Hindi films such as ' Maximum ' & ' Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai! '. But on one hand both the Hindi films failed miserably to attract the viewers and flopped whereas on the other hand Hollywood film 'The Amazing Spider-Man' scored amazingly high.
It is being said that 'The Amazing Spider-Man' has set a record for earning highest revenue in its opening weekend (for any Hollywood film till date).
It has earned INR 34 crores in its opening weekend which no other Hollywood film has achieved till date. This film continues to do very good business after its first weekend.
Managing Director of Sony Pictures India Kercy Daruwala has said, "Spider-Man is the most consistently successful movie franchise in India and it's great to see that five years since the last movie, and with a whole new cast and storyline, the franchise is going from strength to strength. What's important to note is that a significant part of the box office has come from smaller centres as we have leveraged our strength in distributing and marketing this film across the country."
Its makers are working on its sequel which is expected to release in 2014.
