The legendary actor Pran Saab expired

The legendary Bollywood actor Pran passed away yesterday night, that is, on July 12 at 8.30 in Lilavati Hospital. The actor was 93 years old.

The adored villain of Bollywood, Pran passed away yesterday night, that is, on July 12 at 8.30 pm in Mumbai-based Lilavati hospital. The veteran actor breathed his last following a cardiac arrest. Pran was 93 years old and had a diminishing health graph since last two years. The actor had been a couple of times admitted in hospital due to uneasiness in breathing.

Pran Nath Sikand was the real name of the actor Pran . A Punjabi film 'Yamla Jat' was the debut film of the actor and he continued impressing viewers as an antagonist in the films. The brilliant actor acted in more than 400 films during his career span of over six decades and stole the show as a villain. Some of the prominent films of Pran include ' Upkar ', ' Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai ', ' Madhumati ', ' Shaheed ', ' Amar Akbar Anthony ', ' Zanjeer ', etc. The versatile actor shined in his every role, ranging from villain to a character artist.

On May 10, 2013, Pran was given Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is considered as the highest honor in Indian cinema. The award was offered at the hands of Manish Tiwari, Information and Broadcasting Minister. Due to the ill health of the actor, he could not be present at the 60th National Film Awards ceremony held in Delhi and the award was transferred to his Powai home.

Pran 's family comprised of his wife Shukla Ahluwalia, a daughter Pinky and two sons, Sunil and Arvind. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
