'The Light: Swami Vivekananda' - A Salute to Vivekananda

' The Light: Swami Vivekananda ' by Utpal Sinha is the biopic spinning around the life of great Hindu monk, Swami Vivekananda. The movie aims at depicting the evolution under which Swami Vivekananda went through since his childhood till he meets Ramkrishna Paramhans and becomes a saint.

As explained by the producer J. Misra , he intended to put Swamiji's teachings in front of today's youth. A life-altering meeting of the great industrialist Jamshedji Tata with Swamiji while their journey to Chicago, is covered in this film, said Misra. Also, the impact of Swamiji's thoughts on the leader Lokmanya Tilak is captured in it. Apart from these people, the other great personas, who were immensely influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda include President of USA, Barack Obama, Scientist and former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam, the social activist Anna Hazare and ex-Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Mr. Obama revealed the teachings of Swamiji by saying that the eminent Swami Vivekananda quoted that holiness, charity and purity do not form the exclusive possession of any church in the world and each and every system had made people of the most sublime character. APJ Abdul Kalam said while talking to the students that a valuable message is imparted by Swami Vivekananda to the entire nation and the message says that there is no limit to the power of the mind.

Anna Hazare admitted that he realized striving for the betterment of common people is parallel to a prayer to God, through Swami Vivekananda's teachings. The former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu confessed of his life underwent a revolution after following the principles of Swamiji.
