Film makers and audience are always inclined towards Sufi songs, despite having an undying thirst for Bollywood masala songs and it is being proved from time to time. Though not so frequent, it is mostly used to make a statement or signify particular revelation in the storyline. Hence, director of Partition 1947 , Gurinder Chadha thought to put a well-known Sufi song, Duma Dum Mast Kalander, in her upcoming historical drama starring Huma Qureshi , Manish Dayal , and late Om Puri . We have already heard so many renditions of Duma Dum Mast Kalander over the course of time by many singers and in many films, but no matter how many times we hear it, most of us would feel rooted for the track! And this time, the rendition is being voiced by Hans Raj Han and it is a pleasure to hear his soulful soothing earthy Sufi voice while making an on-screen appearance! The Partition 1947 is a British-Indian historical drama being dubbed into Hindi, and its English version is titled as Viceroy's House and its Hindi dubbed version will be releasing on 18th August. The film features the cast of Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Michael Gambon, Darshan Jariwala , Sarah-Jane Dias and also Neeraj Kabi !
