Mehboob Khan 's magnum opus Oscar nominated ' Mother India ' should not be remade by anybody feels Bollywood's one of the most talented actress Vidya Balan . According to her, remaking the cult classic '
Mother India ' is an unachievable mission. She also stated that if someone dares to touch the classic, she would not be a part of it.
Vidya had donned Nargis 's look from '
Mother India ' and Meena Kumari 's look from 'Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam' for a magazine's special edition to pay the tribute to 100 golden years of the Indian cinema. But the actress does not feel to be a part of the remake of the masterpieces like 'Mother India'. Vidya, who made her Bollywood debut with the film ' Parineeta ' remake, does not have any intention of working in a remake of 'Mother India'.
Vidya expressed that she does not feel that anybody would dare to remake '
Mother India '. But if someone thinks of the task, she will salute the person but will not be a part of it. She said that it is really unachievable. Vidya was speaking to the media at the unveiling of the magazine's cover page.

Mother India ' is a story of a mother played by legendary actress Nargis who shoots her own son played by Sunil Dutt , for behaving against the law. The film was one the most expensive projects of that era. It is said that, the movie was a remake of a 1940s film 'Aurat'. '
Mother India ' is reported to be India's first entry for the Oscars for the Best Foreign Language film category in 1958.
Vidya who has donned Nargis 's look for the film is currently busy with ' Shaadi Ke Side Effects ' with Farhan Akhtar . Her ' Ghanchakkar ' with Emraan Hashmi will be released soon.
