Known for making some out of the box movies, director Onir is coming up with a new romantic flick, titled ‘ Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz ’. In the past, the National Award winning director has made complex movies and his new romantic film is also an unconventional one. Unlike some old love stories that we have witnessed before, his new film is a modern-day love story in the age of social media, as seen through two primary characters – RJ Alfaaz, played by debutant actor Zain Khan Durrani and meme artist - Archana, played by Geetanjali Thapa . In a world of pings, likes, tweets, shares, and comments, 2 strangers connect over a miss-dial and Whatsapp their way into each other’s hearts, safely hidden behind digital screens. But will the emojis translate to emotions when they reveal their truth to one another –forms the crux of the story. The makers dropped the teaser of the film and it’s the most romantic thing you will see today. Check it out.
Apart from the leads, the cast also includes Shray Rai Tiwari, Mona Ambegaonkar, Chandrayee Ghosh, Sourav Das, Barun Chanda and Shaheb Bhattacharjee. The film releases on 16th February – on the Valentine’s Day weekend.
2018 has a number of movies lined up to release and getting a solo release is quite impossible this year. Onir ’s film too didn’t get the chance to go solo. On 16th February, his movie will be clashing with Taapsee Pannu starrer, ‘ Dil Juunglee ’ and Richa Chadha ’s ‘ 3 Storeys ’.
