Not at all perturbed by the dismal performance of his last directorial Rangoon , well-known filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has started work on his next film. As we all know by his repertoire, he has a knack for picking up unusual stories. Continuing the tradition, Bhardwaj has taken up another interesting subject as his next film. According to reports, the maverick filmmaker will base his next production on an adaptation of Adrian Levy and Cathy Scott-Clark’s non-fiction book, The Exile: The Flight of Osama Bin Laden.
The book, which hit the stand in May 2017, gives an insider’s account of Al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden’s movements after 9/11 attacks on the United States of America. Titled Abbottabad , the film will be bankrolled by Vishal Bhardwaj Films and Junglee Pictures. It is said to be a prequel to Zero Dark Thirty.
While the film will majorly revolve around the character of Osama Bin Laden, it will be told from the perspective of Ibrahim, the man who hosted and guarded the Al-Qaida spearhead for many years.
Vishal Bhardwaj , who has attempted many genres in the past says, he is both excited and nervous about Abbottabad. "Excited to tackle this new subject but also nervous since it's my biggest challenge with completely new cultures and languages," he recently tweeted.
