Filmmaker David Dhawan , who has been making comedy and light-hearted movies for the last two and half decades, is now keen to make a serious film and that too with Rajkummar Rao . Well, that’s not just another rumour floating in the B-town; it has been confirmed by David’s son, Varun Dhawan . In a recent media interaction, Varun said, “Dad has been talking about a serious film from a very long time, (but), not with me. He wants to make a film with Rajkummar Rao because he is one of his favourite actors right now. Raj and he have spoken (about it) many times. He has been talking about it a lot and I tell him ‘Do it now!'”
In the past, David has majorly done films with Govinda , Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt . Talking further about his dad, Varun said he doesn't compare his work with his peers, but with the above mentioned senior actors. “With me, unfortunately, it’s not about my peers, he (David) talks about the people he has worked with. He would say, ‘Govinda would have done this scene like that. Salman used to do it this way. Sanju could do so many things!’' he said.
Talking about Rajkummar, he is neck tight busy with multiple films for the next one year. He has a total of 9 films on his plate and it will be awaited to see whether David approaches him for a film or not.
