Indian film fraternity was in a state of shock when the news surfaced that veteran actress Reema Lagoo , 59, passed away due to cardiac arrest at 12-12.30 AM in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, where she was initially admitted complaining about chest pain.

Reema Lagoo spawn 3-decade long career portraying iconic roles in TV, plays, and movies such as Kal Ho Na Ho, Jis Desh mein Ganga Rehta Hai, Vastaav: The reality, Kuch Kuch Hota hai, Prem Granth, Hum Aapke Hai kaun, Aakrosh (1980) and even on television series like Shrimaan Shrimati, Tu Tu Main Main, Do Hanson Ka Joda, Tujhe Maze Jamena and Naamkaran in both Marathi and Hindi language.

Although she was cast more for Motherly roles in all the three mediums, she is also known to be peculiar about her roles and also has a long list of roles she rejected just because they were mainstream or she felt not doing. The actress was nominated for best-supporting roles in Filmfare awards to Maine Pyar Kiya, Aashuqui, Hum Aapke hai kaun and Vaastav: The Reality. She was last heard as voice narrated character of Katyar (Dagger) in Marathi period opus Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015).
