This Friday will see two films belonging to the diverse genre hitting the screens. One is the war-comedy ' War Chhod Na Yaar ' directed by the debutant Faraz Haider , while the other one is ' Baat Bann Gayi ' in which Ali Fazal will be seen rendering a double role. ' War Chhod Na Yaar ' marks India's first ever clever war comic caper twirling around the sensitive issue of India-Pakistan.
The director Faraz Haider expressed his views behind coming up with a war-comedy by saying that till now, no film was evident in Bollywood's account on this topic and hence, he decided to make a film on this. The film had sparked several debates in online media and even there were responses from Pakistani masses accusing this flick, as they perceived the wrong portrayal of the Pakistani Army in this narrative, thereby disrespecting it. Also the movie trailer grabbed a few controversial comments on the world wide web. Upon this, Haider cleared the air by mentioning that there was no intention involved of insulting any particular nation or person. It's a sheer satire illustrated via the prism of war and describes the actualities of both the sides, added Haider.
' War Chhod Na Yaar ' features Sharman Joshi as an upright Indian Army officer, who worships his work as well as likes to flirt with the girls by wooing them innocently. The star-kid Soha Ali Khan essays the character of a reporter, who travels to the border to cover details regarding the war happenings there. On the other hand, Javed Jaffrey will be seen playing an honest Pakistani officer, who starts developing thread of love with Soha, but respects Sharman Joshi , the Indian captain. The title song "War chhod na yaar" presents the voice of two Pakistani singers, Ali Azmat and Sujhath Ali Khan.
