Ajay Devgn is one such rare actor in Bollywood who has always backed films which are commercially viable and thoroughly enjoyable. Known as the Singham of the B-town, the 48-year-old actor has played the role of a Maharashtrian in many of his films. But now, he is all set to make his debut as a producer in the Marathi film industry. Ajay shared the news on Twitter through a video, and speaking about his venture, he said that he has been born and brought up in Mumbai and hence is rooted with the soil of Maharashtra since birth. He always respected Marathi language but ever since his marriage with Kajol, he has fallen in love with its culture. He further said that the culture gives a separate identity to the Marathi film industry and now he’s all set to be a part of this industry. He is bringing (producing) his first ever Marathi film, ‘Aapla Manus’, releasing on 9th February next year.
Ajay has tagged Marathi film director Satish Rajwade in the video and seems that ‘Aapla Manus’ will be directed by Satish. The film also stars Nana Patekar , Sumeet Raghavan and Irawati Harshe in pivotal roles. His tweet read, “Happy to announce my 1st ever Marathi film venture - Aapla Manus, releasing on 9th Feb."
Apart from this, Ajay will be seen in Raj Kumar Gupta 's ‘ Raid ’. He will be seen alongside Ileana D'Cruz . The actor plays the role of an Income Tax Officer in the film. ‘ Raid ’ is scheduled to hit the screens on March 16, 2018.
