If you thought that only Bollywood is busy making one sports biopic after another, then let us tell you that South Indian cinema is lagging no behind. Many filmmakers there are taking a keen interest in bringing various inspirational stories of athletes on celluloid. According to the latest reports, acclaimed ad filmmaker Revathy Varma is all set to direct a film based on the inspirational life of Indian track and field athlete PT Usha. The director has started his preparation for the sports biopic. The latest we hear that distinguished music director AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the movie. Reports also claim that India’s international star Priyanka Chopra is being considered to play the female lead.
Clearing the air, director Revathy says, "Yes, we will be doing the biopic of PT Usha and AR Rahman will be scoring the music for the film, but it is not confirmed yet that Priyanka Chopra will be playing the lead."
We are surely excited about AR Rahman coming onboard to score the music for the movie, but it will be a double treat for all the movie enthusiasts if Priyanka Chopra gives her nod to star in the film. We have not seen the actress in any Indian film since Jai Gangaajal (2016). It will be really awesome if she strikes back with a biopic on PT Usha.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be made in many popular Indian languages.
