After being remade in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi, Malayalam film Drishyam to see a Chinese remake soon.

Released in the year 2013, Malayalam movie Drishyam turned out to be a blockbuster at the box-office and is considered one of the best suspense thriller films to ever come out from the stable of Malayalam cinema. The popularity of the film can be gauged from the fact that the movie has seen remakes into many popular Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi till now. And now the reports are coming in that the film will soon see a Chinese remake.
Reportedly, a Chinese production house has acquired the rights to remake the film in the Chinese language. Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph shared this information on his Facebook. With this development, Drishyam has created a history as it becomes the first Indian film to be officially remade into Chinese.
Starring superstar Mohan Lal in the lead role, the movie opened to an overwhelming response and, within a few days of its release, minted Rs. 50 crores at the box office. It was made with a shoestring budget of Rs. 5 crores and went on to pull in Rs.75 crores for the Malayalam version alone. It is expected that the film will smash several box office records in China.
