One line Review: With high octane action, this patriotic drama tries to sprinkle elements of comedy, emotions and predictable twists at regular intervals.

Positive Points: For the action lovers, there is Vidyut Jamwal performing some intense stunts and hand to hand combat.

Negative Points: The formulaic narration of the story, predictability and no strong plot.

Plot: The person responsible to circulate the Indian black money in the international market, Vicky Chadda has been arrested in Malaysia. A team of four officers is being sent there to bring him back to India. Among which are Karan ( Vidyut Jammwal ) a commando, cops Bakhtawar ( Freddy Daruwala ) and Bhawna Reddy ( Adah Sharma ) and a computer software expert Zafar Hussain.

Commando 2 Review | Vidyut Jamwal | Adah Sharma | Esha Gupta

The twist in the story comes up when Vicky Chadda and his wife ( Esha Gupta ) claims that they are innocent. Then starts the whole scenario when the Commando Karan and team chase the culprits in order to safeguard all the money of the civilians. There are multiple twists and situations that surface the mission. Will they be successful?

Direction and other Technical Aspects: Director Deven Bhojani does not impress with the execution and direction. The viewers and not hooked even for a few minutes. The ones who do not like action are bored to death. Although action sequences are choreographed well, they seem forced. Like the goons do not have guns so that our hero can perform hand to hand combat and display his skills. Predictability is another curse to the film. Just one twist was impressive, rest everything is passable. The characters are strangely developed and comic elements are added out of nowhere. It feels like the film is made just for the sake of making it and no heart is involved.

Performances: Vidyut Jamwal has a great physique and a charming personality. He is pleasant to watch on screen and pulls off action sequences effortlessly. His strengths i.e. action and stunts are flaunted well. Though, there is a scope for improvement in the action department.

Freddy Daruwala does a good job and does fair justice to his character.

Adah Sharma essays a stylish cop who killed a goon for a Gucci Bag! Her Hyderabadi accent and stereotyped dumbness was irritating at first but later seemed funny.

Esha Gupta looks hot and maintains a straight, plain expression throughout her screen time.

All the supporting actors do a fair job. They support the story appropriately.

Music: The action drama does not have many songs which is in support of the film. The back ground score is good, except that very ‘commando’ thing that plays every time our hero takes the lead.

Final Verdict: For action lovers, this film might have some substance. But for the rest of us, there’s hardly any content. Cine lovers are smart enough to decide for themselves!
