Jab Harry Met Sejal Review: Definitely worth a watch, but might leave you feeling underwhelmed!

Two diametrically complete strangers, coming from diverse backgrounds, meet in a foreign country and fall in love with each other.

Positive Points: Electrifying chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma , exotic locations and a couple of wittily written dialogues.

Negative Points: Way too simple story which gets predictable from the word go.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Plot Review:

Harry ( Shah Rukh Khan ) is a tourist guide working for a tour company in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He meets a host of hot girls every day and is labelled as a womanizer. But now he wants to change himself and reign his uncontrollable sex drive. Little does he know that his life is already on the verge of witnessing a 360 degree change with the entry of Sejal ( Anushka Sharma ). Sejal is a bubbly and chirpy Gujarati girl who misses her flight back to India to find the engagement ring which she lost on the day of her engagement in Amsterdam. Since Harry was the one who arranged for her engagement and stay of her whole family in the city, Sejal hires Harry to help her find her ring. The two go from Amsterdam to Prague to Budapest to find the ring, only to see love blossom between them. Will Sejal go back to India after she finds her engagement ring? Will Harry confess his love for her despite knowing she is already engaged? To know, hit the cinema nearest you.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Character Performance Review:

Shah Rukh Khan plays Harry, a character you fall in love with almost instantly. With his charm and effervescence, he makes the character even more lovable. No other actor would have played this character as impeccably as SRK did. It is amazing to see that even at the age of 51 he can play a lover boy like none. He makes you believe that when it comes to romancing, no one can romance like Shah Rukh Khan . Anushka Sharma , on the other hand, is also perfect in her part. She nails the character of a Gujarati girl. It seems she worked really hard to get the Gujarati accent right. She does deserve praises for doing it perfectly without making a mockery of it. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are sharing the screen space for the third time after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. When you see them onscreen in JHMT, you can feel that the comfort level between both of them has grown exponentially. Their chemistry convinces you to sit through the whole film despite there being a lot of issues. You overlook all faults and flaws when Harry and Sejal are there on the screen.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Direction Review:

Jab We Met , Love Aaj Kal and Highway are some of the wonderful films that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has helmed in his short but illustrious career. His last release Tamasha did not fare well at the ticket window despite getting good reviews. Now, his latest film Jab Harry Met Sejal is out in cinemas burdened with a lot of hopes and expectations. Of late, Imtiaz has been accused of basing his films on the same premises. We don't want to reveal whether or not Jab Harry Met Sejal exploits the same formula, but it does remind you of Imtiaz’s previous films. Two strangers meet at some random place, become friends, travel places to places for one reason or the other and fall in love, these are the common ingredients of all Imtiaz Ali films. But then, every film has these common and over utilized tropes. What makes Imtiaz Ali ’s films watchable is how the director treats the same things differently. We all know he is a brilliant storyteller. With his skills, he once again makes a lovable film out of a simple plotline. But as the storywriter of the film, he fails to cast his full magic.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Technical Aspect Review:

Whether or not Jab Harry Met Sejal is a wonderful film story-wise is something you can decide after watching it, but it's a beautiful film cinematographically. The film is edited well in the first part. The second part could have been trimmed well.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Music Review:

Nowadays, it has become a rarity to see one music composer scoring music for the whole album of the film. Believe it or not, the audience keeps waiting for such albums which have compositions by one music director. After his commercially successful album Ae Dil Hai Mushkil last year, Pritam returns with an album which is fully scored by him. And as expected, it impresses with its catchy tunes. Songs like “Radha” and “Beech Beech Mein” instantly grab your attention. The other two songs “Safar” and “Hawayein” sung by the music sensation Arijit Singh are really soulful. But the album of Jab Harry Met Sejal is not as amazing as that of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Final Verdict:
