One line Review: The tale of two youngsters who get into a no strings attached kind of relationship only to fall in true love.

Positive Points: The chemistry of the lead pair is enthralling. The story line is executed aptly making it an entertaining affair. The run time of the film is perfect thanks to the tight editing. The songs are a delight.

Negative Points: There are portions which seem unreal and a way too Bollywoodish. Also, the plot is extremely predictable and has no fresh story to narrate.

Plot: Tara ( Shraddha Kapoor ) and Adi ( Aditya Roy Kapur ) meet in an impromptu circumstance where Tara is trying to commit suicide while fighting with her boyfriend and Adi tries to save her. Destiny plays the magic trick and they both meet again at a common friend’s wedding. Adi is a budding game developer and Tara is an architect. They instantly hit a connection and become more than friends. Sooner, they decide to live-in together for a few months at Adi’s PG which is retired High Court Justice G Shrivastava’s ( Naseeruddin Shah ) house. Mr. G Shrivastava lives with his beloved wife Charu who is a classical singer and Alzheimer’s patient.

Review Ok Jaanu

After convincing Mr. G Shrivastava and his wife, Tara and Adi start living in together. The duo live their dream life in those 6 months where they are mostly seen enjoying the perks of a live-in relationship. Their no strings attached kind of a relationship starts seeing a few signs of love after witnessing the true affection and bonding of their house owners. Until one fine day when Tara gets admission in her dream architect college in Paris while Adi is promoted to US for his game development career. Now, the young couple only has 10 days to spend together before they part ways to pursue their respective careers.

Direction and other Technical Aspects: Shaad Ali has done a fairly commendable job when it comes to direction. He has executed the script beautifully. The actors add their charm to the perfectly written roles. The dialogues by Gulzar sir are on point and so realistic that they do not seem made up. The ease with which the story flows is another plus. The city of Mumbai is aptly captured, the essence being speed. Tara and Adi’s life also moves quite swiftly than normal and their family characters are also carved well. There are a few sequences which seem dragged and unreal but overall, the film is entertaining. The songs and performances of all the actors is what makes the film more likable.

Performances: Aditya Roy Kapur is his usual causal self in the film. He is the everyday urban guy. His performance is praiseworthy and he pulls off the scenes where is scared and is troubled by Tara, very well.

Shraddha Kapoor is a star. She is a delight to watch on the big screen. The actress has the charm to light up the screen with her presence. Needless to say, Shraddha delivers a perfect performance and is lovable to the core.

Naseeruddin Shah is a gem. His character is super interesting and likable. He is strict as well as loving. The veteran star does complete justice to the role.

Leela Samson plays the role of Naseerudin’s ailing wife. She essays her role with full sincerity.

Music: All the songs are lovable and already a huge hit amongst the viewers and music lovers. Humma Humma, the title track and others are a visual treat. The classical numbers Sun Bawara, Sajan Ayo re used in portions at the backdrop works wonders as well.

Final Verdict: It is a youthful and light-hearted film which can sum up for a good weekend treat. Perfect to watch with your respective Jaanus and friends for an entertaining time!
