Welcome To New York Review: A film which falls short of being a laugh riot
Welcome To New York is a poorly executed film which is meant to give you nothing fresh in the name of entertainment.

Positive Points: Performances by Diljit Dosanjh , Lara Dutta , and Boman Irani
Negative Points: Story, Screenplay, Direction
Welcome To New York Plot:
The movie revolves around two people, Jeenal Patel ( Sonakshi Sinha ) from Gujarat and Teji Singh ( Diljit Dosanjh ) from Punjab, and the IIFA Awards 2017. Jeenal and Teji get selected as the winners of a talent hunt that is held by IIFA and they both win a chance to get a visit to the award function which is being held in New York. Jeenal is a fashion designer while Teji is an aspiring actor. The two are not so brilliant in their respective fields but still gets selected by Lara Dutta who wants to take revenge from Garry ( Boman Irani ), the head of the IIFA awards, so that she could spoil the event. The film also stars Karan Johar , playing himself, but there’s an unexpected twist when you find that he has a double role. Apart from these stars, the film has many cameos and what happens when Jeenal and Teji finally reach the Award function forms the crux of the story.
Welcome To New York Performance Review:
The film has multiple actors but apart from Diljit, Lara, and Boman, none of them succeeds in delivering an enjoyable performance. Sonakshi, who plays a Gujarati girl, also fails to leave an impression. Being the most popular actor amongst all in the movie, a lot was expected from her but she fails to live up to the expectations. Karan Johar also tries his best to elicit some laughs, but they are sporadic. Diljit plays a Sikh and he nails every second he has given. Lara and Boman were fine in their characters and Riteish Deshmuh was also good. The cameos of Salman Khan and Rana Daggubati were really interesting.
Welcome To New York Direction Review:
The film is directed by Indo-American filmmaker, Chakri Toleti . It is his first Hindi film and he failed miserably to deliver even an average movie. The film is filled with flaws and loopholes and one will get no idea where it is going. Chakri’s direction is poor and he just cannot manage to bring the audiences to the theatres. Though it is his first ever Hindi film, even the big actors couldn’t save this.
Welcome To New York Technical Aspects Review:
Technically, the film was worse than worst. Its cringeworthy dialogues, poor dubbing, and the inappropriate lip syncs make it unbearable. The useless effects and over the top editing are pathetic in every sense.
Welcome To New York Music Review:
Songs are useless and serve no purpose. Only ‘Ishtehar’ by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is soothing and that is the only good part of the movie.
Welcome To New York Final Verdict:
The movie is trash and a waste of money, talent, actors, workers, and everything. It doesn’t worth a single penny. Do not waste your hard earned money on a crap like this.
