Actor Suriya accepts the Best Actor Male National Award for Soorarai Pottru: Take a look at the other winners!
On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the winners of the 68th National Film Awards with their honors in Delhi. Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, had already released the list of winners earlier. One of the most well-known actors in Tamil cinema, Suriya received his award for the Male Best Actor for his performance in Soorarai Pottru. Aparna Balamurali who plays the female role in the same film received the Best Actor Female award.

Suriya donned a traditional lungi for the occasion, while Jyothika, his wife, wore a lavender saree for the presentation of the prizes. Jyothika, an actress and Suriya's wife, was also present at the ceremony and was presented with the Best Feature Film award for Soorarai Pottru. As each other won their award, they were seen in photos from the ceremony taking shots of each other from the audience.

The National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment also went to Ajay Devgn's film Tanhaji. The President presented Vishal Bhardwaj with the National Award in the category of "Best Music Composition" for his song Marenge Toh Wahin Jaakar from his documentary "1232Kms."
