Filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, who last directed the Tamil film Vai Raja Vai (2015), is set to wield the megaphone after a long time. She is gearing up to make her directorial comeback with a film titled Oh Saathi Chal.
What makes the upcoming project even more special is the fact that it will mark her debut in Bollywood. When asked what kept her away from direction for so many years, Aishwaryaa said that she chose to stay away as she wanted to spend time with her sons. “I took a break as I wanted to spend more time with my sons who were growing up way too fast,” she told a publication.
She also revealed to have received many offers to make Hindi films, but she declined them as she was not in the mindset to work. “It feels great to be back. Now my children are old enough and I seem to have more time in hand for myself,” she added.
The filmmaker also said that she would love to work with actors Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh.
When asked if she ever felt the urge to cast her father, superstar Rajinikanth, in her films, she said, “I honestly have not given it a thought or worked towards it. I am enjoying and loving the experience of being his fanatic fan. But if an opportunity comes up, who in their right senses would say no to that?”
