Actor Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in Ek Villain Returns, may star as a cop in Pushpa: The Rule, which is the second installment of the hit south movie Pushpa: The Rise starring Allu Arjun.
As per reports, Arjun is currently in talks with filmmaker Sukumar for the role in the upcoming sequel and if things fall in place, then the Kapoor lad will be seen playing a policeman in Pushpa: The Rule.
However, neither Arjun nor the makers of the film has given out any official confirmation as of now.
Noteworthy, when Pushpa: The Rise had released in December last year, Arjun Kapoor had heaped praises on the film and its lead actors. “Pushpa is not a film. It’s an experience, a juggernaut of attitude intensity and coolness put together in one smooth poetic motion picture,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
Allu Arjun, post the massive success of the Pushpa: The Rise, is gearing up for the release of Pushpa 2. He would commence filming for the project from mid-October. Fans are super-excited not just for the film but also for Allu's new avatar which is yet to be revealed.
For the unversed, Pushpa: The Rise was released on 17 December 2021. The film received generally mixed reviews from critics who praised the performances (particularly of Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil), action sequences, cinematography, direction, and songs but criticised the runtime, narration, climax and editing.
The film was a commercially success, grossing ₹355–₹365 crore at the box office. It emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021, and ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. It is also the 32nd highest grossing Indian film of all time.
