Chiyaan Vikram suffers heart attack ahead of Ponniyin Selvan teaser launch; rushed to hospital
The eagerly anticipated teaser for the Ponniyin Selvan I, starring Chiyaan Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is scheduled to be released soon in the coming hours. For all the Chiyaan Vikram fans, there is some unfortunate news. According to reports, the actor was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Thursday. While some reports state that he experienced a heart attack, others claim that he had a high fever and was sent to the hospital as a result.
He only had slight chest pain and was admitted to the hospital for the same, according to Vikram's management, who clarified on Twitter that it wasn't a heart attack.
According to reports, the I (2015) actor had an angioplasty yesterday, July 7. Although the hospital has not yet provided updates on his condition, sources there have confirmed that he is stable. Today at 6 pm in Chennai, the actor was expected to attend the teaser launch of his upcoming movie, Ponniyin Selvan. On September 30, the movie's first part is scheduled to release in theatres.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vikram will soon be seen in Mani Ratnam's historic film Ponniyin Selvan, Cobra, and an untitled movie with director Pa Ranjith. He most recently appeared in Mahaan (2022), helmed by Karthik Subbaraj. His son, actor Dhruv Vikram, played the lead role.
