Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, which is scheduled to release on January 14th, can be postponed due to increasing COVID-19 cases in the country. The makers of the film are currently discussing the issue.
The film’s director, Radha Krishna Kumar told a publication that they have no plans yet to postpone the release. He, however, added, ‘if the situation worsens.’ indicating the film can be postponed amid the pandemic.
With the new variant of coronavirus wreaking havoc in India, many theatres are either shutting down or decreasing the number of shows. This puts the makers in a difficult position. Even though the theatres are open, cinegoers are hesitant to visit them due to fear of the pandemic.
However, films like Pushpa (2021) and Spider Man: No Way Home (2021) are doing well even in COVID-19 times. But again, it is upon the makers of the film whether they want to take the risk or not.
Also starring Pooja Hegde in the lead role, Radhe Shyam is a pan-India film, set to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
